You are right, that is a small mistake. And we can agree on that formatting error and that it can lead to accidental errors with disastrous consequences. But I just don't see enough evidence for the memes assumption that she completely missed the mark there.

As for how this is taught in school nowadays, I've got no idea. They should do it the way you described it though.
