Revisionism — No downplaying or denying atrocities past and present. Calling Tankies shills, foreign/federal agents, or bots also falls under this rule. Extremists exist. They are real. Do not call them shills or fake users, as it handwaves their extremism.
Off-topic Discussion — Do not discuss unrelated topics to the point of derailing the thread. Stay focused on the direct content of the post, rather than engaging in arguments that lack mutual agreement.
Brigading/Trolling — If you're here because this community was linked in another thread, please refrain from maliciously voting, commenting, or manipulating the post in any way. This includes alt accounts. All votes are public, and if you are found to be brigading, you will be banned. Good-faith and honest communication is an exception.
Tankies can explain their views, but may be criticised or challenged for them. Any minor infraction of the rules may result in a warning and possibly a temporary ban.
You'll be warned if you're violating the instance and community rules. Continuing poor behaviour after being warned will result in a ban or removal of your comments. Bans typically last only 24 hours, but each subsequent infraction doubles the duration. Depending on the content, the ban time may be increased. You may request an unban at any time.

The comm rules kinda forbid tankies from discussing any of the takes here. Not that I have a problem with the rule, but it contradicts what you're writing in this thread.
Below it is a little section:

I disengaged largely because I felt you weren't fast enough to acknowledge that the Palestinian people were being subjected not just to an atrocity, but, specifically, to genocide. Later, as the behavior of Israel became even more atrocious and blatant, you would acknowledge that the behavior of the government of Israel was genocidal, but by then I was already feeling the distance between us on the matter, and not interested in rejoining moderation in a comm where I could not guarantee what I regarded as a 'baseline' of decency/genocide acknowledgement.
However, due to Lemmy's code, I couldn't leave the mod position myself, and I thought I was being re-added every time I tried to leave since there's a few hours' delay, so I just stopped moderating for a while.
When you became less active, I returned to moderating, primarily by banning tankie fuckwits who came in and spread their vile shite. Eventually, you returned to activity and told me to give them a warning first, and I told you to just remove me from moderation, because I had no patience for those games.

probably why then. i always prefer for all facts to come in and for the fog to clear before i make judgements
