So weird. He was a vegan socialist who, despite what people now claim, was highly regarded on the comedy circuit and had a razor sharp wit, bags of charisma and playful sense of humour that many of us loved. He campaigned successfully on behalf of various pressure groups, representing people with drug addiction as well as supporting survivors of spousal abuse.
Now he eats steak with MAGA nutjobs and sells crystals online.
People tend to say they somehow 'always knew' what he was like, but this one took me by surprise.
