I think a lot of them can be flashed with something from tasmota. I did it years ago to integrate it with Home Assistant and monitor the amount of electricity the washing machine was using and turn a conspicuous light bright magenta so I didn't forget to move laundry to the dryer.

Do you need to disassemble and use a USB header to install it on these? My whole house uses these switches and I was gonna just replace them.

Yes. I used HiLetgo FT232RL Mini USB to TTL Serial Converter and jumper wires but given that's mini USB on one end you'd probably be better of with a more recent one. Also double check that the model you're using has something to flash onto it. It's been a while since I did any of this.
