He was the perfect actor for the job i can’t believe how the producers shot themselves in the foot like that.
Didn't he turn it down in preference for what he assumed was the next Superman gig, only to have that cancelled on him? An unfortunate series of events, or so it is theorised anyway

Imagine loving a series, getting the chance to do a high-budget TV show, and these are the people behind the script. I'd leave too.
They're the same kind of people who made "Picard" with the announcement, "This ain't your daddy's Picard!"

"Let's take this very successful character/IP, strip away everything people liked, insert depth less, one sided, middle school chatgpt quality characters and plot and then blame the viewers when if flops" seems to be the current procedure.
