3d printed semi-auto 9mm carbine looks very cyberpunk, and is named after the Potoo bird that was a staple meme species.

The gun's name is a reference to the common potoo, also known as "The Ghost Bird."

I thought that 3d printed guns effectively broke/fell apart after just a few rounds? Or has there been some sort of breakthrough in printing technology since then

The breakthrough is using metal for the bits that take the serious forces, either the unregulated parts of regular guns or commodity hardware

I see. I guess you'd probably need to use something a bit more robust than standard PLA filament though eh?

PETG is about as easy to print as PLA but much less brittle.
