Explanation: The English Civil War was conducted primarily between Parliamentarian forces, which were predominantly Puritans; and Royalists, who supported King Charles I and King Charles II and were sometimes called 'Cavaliers'.

The left picture is of the Grinch, a famous anti-Christmas character from a children's book. The Puritans were quite famously anti-Christmas, going so far as to ban Christmas celebrations as 'popery' ('Too Catholic'). REAL Christians spent Christmas in SOLEMN CONTEMPLATION OF THE BIRTH OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR

The right is of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, named because it was an attempt to recreate the depictions of the spaniel of King Charles II.
