Hey that's stunning, thanks for the link. Sadly I won't be building anything extravagant. I don't have much money at all. It's going to take years to build something not too big. I certainly don't want an actual "tiny home", but it won't be a huge expensive place. The position and the views are my main source of wonderment and satisfaction.
Cheers.
Oh my god, oh my god, check out the link, your story is so much like their story! They only had like ~£200,000 to spend and he did a lot of the work himself, the wood flooring was from an old school gym, while some of the grating was from some old rail yards in the area.
Its a really old episode, back when grand designs didn't just mean some architects wet dream if they had all the money in the world to spend. Its a simpler building than what they often have on that show now.
Edit: Also, is your place on an island? Or is it just easier to get around by ferry? I've never been to Queensland, so I don't know what its like. Seems very different to the rest of Australia, in many ways.
Yes I'm on an island. It's a twenty minute passenger ferry ride to the mainland. I work on the mainland. It's called Russell Island if you want to look into it.
Oh wow! I'll look it up, looks nice.
The only islander life we've got in Perth is those on Rottnest island. I knew a girl who lived there for a bit, working at the pub, she told me the partys got freakin wild after the tourists went home at night. 😅
Based on the pictures you show, i'm sure Russel Island is a bit more relaxing.
