Look the racist guy got what he deserved, but "kicking them while they're down" is so commonly understood to be taking it too far that it's an idiom.

If you allow your enemy the opportunity to counter attack then they will, every time, if you expect them to do otherwise then you’re a fucking idiot. Take away their power to hurt and surprisingly they can’t hurt people anymore. Make nazis scared again.
