Imo it's worth giving a Garrus romance a chance, my partner was talking about how it's her favourite choice (Femshep is canon imo, Mark Meer is solid but Jennifer Hale is amazing, especially as a renegade) and I totally agree after my last play through.

There's a lot throughout that makes it great but wow if it isn't a gut punch during Priority: Earth in ME:3.

I ended up going with Vetra on my first ME:A run, I actually really enjoyed it when it released,
