Because the best software engineers will use AI the way power tools get used by a master carpenter:

The idiocy at the management/investor level is that firing the people who can easily outcompete you is self destructive.

On a semi-related note, the idiot investors who gave Musk a huge pay package, mostly for his contributions to fascism, are just giving away money to someone destroying Tesla sales, and a "never pay for grok/optimus army" attitude, when any actual product success/achievements will come entirely from engineers, and are forced to climb a giant mountain of hatred to get adopted. Skynet is the only possible client.
