I’m curious about the real world use case(es) for this is. It reminds me of handcuffed briefcases in spy movies.

Handcuffed briefcases (or a bag with bigger capacity, which is more practical but the same idea) are frequently used by folks transferring expensive items in armored trucks (eg banks) IRL
