You're probably right but hopefully not. In the book, Chani just follows Paul but, in Dune Part 2 she leaves him. Perhaps Denis will bring the two back together in Dune Part 3.

Yeah, at this point in the book, Paul and Chani had a child, who had been killed by the Sardakar.

It was Paul's sister who killed the Baron.

Then Children is the story of Paul and Chani's twins, born during the events of Messiah.

But the movies have strayed fairly far from the books in a lot of ways. Paul and Chani had 2-4 years together and a psychic drug bonding experience where Chani got to see bits of the future through Paul's power.

The first book ends on such a high note as well. All so the fall is further.

Still, even with the changes and omissions, the movies capture the feel of the books quite well.
