Wait, there are T9 remotes??
A long long time ago, cable tv remotes had over 50 buttons.
I haven't had a TV in like 15 years, what do they look like nowadays?
A lot less buttons; this here is a generic smart TV remote. A lot of streaming boxes have the bare minimum.
It'd be disingenuous to say all remotes are like that, here's a newer looking one with many buttons. A major "feature" of most new remotes are dedicated buttons to various streaming services, Netflix, Disney, Prime, etc.
And here's a pile of old remotes I found while looking for the first two pictures.
Yeah the first one makes me think that it's at most for speakers.
Weird.
Thanks for teh information.
I think it’s a joke but this would be a real game changer if so
Lol they actually do make "universal" remotes with oodles of buttons that work with all the standard streaming boxes
I picked up a used Sony TV (Android TV) and the standard remote is what you'd expect, but it didn't come with it so I decided to see if there was one with buttons I could buy instead when I was looking for it's replacement
Imagine my surprise when there was lmao
I also saw some for Rokus and firetvs
