As every android user I try tons of apps. Mostly Foss or at least privacy friendly apps. Thought of gathering app links and categorizing them in a telegram channel. Please have a look if you want and also join the chat for app suggestions. thanks.

Matrix does not have search filter. Actually does not have any search at all in groups

Also there is no way categorise messages by any mean

In telegram I just add a # in the post Then Users tap on the # and all related messages appear

Easy

And fast

More functional at the expense of privacy or security is probably not an argument that will do well here. Most are here to get away from google and privacy/security are big aspects of those.

I'll go without, for both.

Telegram is not google. The clients are open source. And there are degoogled clients on fdroid. And eitherway you can access the channel from any browser without the need of an account

"and privacy/security are big aspects of those". Telegram wrapped their own encryption that isn't e2e by default and iirc had holes in it from a security audit. Many people like shouting across the fence to their neighbours, it has features that many want (seemless voice conferencing). It just isn't secure. You cannot be private without being secure.

Channels and groups are not encrypted in tg. Like this community we now chatting is not encrypted. I dont see anything wrong in that. For the tg encryption security audit , i think its beyond the purpuse of the channel i made so idc.
