There are more fun games than ever before, it just takes more time and effort to find them. I've been trawling through obscure and forgotten games on Steam and Itch for a while now, and unironically some of my favourite, most memorable experiences came from games stuck at five hundred, or fifty, or even less than ten reviews on Steam, or with only a couple of comments on Itch. It takes a bit more effort to find and engage with games like that than the most popular and well advertised (and generic) AAA slop, but it's very rewarding.
