Few reasons. One, to help me advance in my career. Two, because I like the idea of open source. Three, tech business are kind of acting evil for money, so I'm going back to being self reliant and piracy.

OK so I'm trying to parse this one and having a bit of trouble.

BigTech is being evil so you're self hosting to be more self reliant? Check! That one makes sense. BigTech is being evil so... Piracy? :)

I don't actually have any moral problem with people stealing most media other than that in our current craptastic system the funds to drive the creation of said media need to come from somewhere, I'm just wondering about the logic :)
