That guy whose character is a reference to that show you don’t watch. They keep making references to it, and a few other people get it, but you have to awkwardly nod your head.

I once played with a guy whose character was a martial artist chef named Sanji Onepiece. He spoke in a pirate accent and insisted on taking a "snack break" in-game every half hour or so so he could mention his character cooks. We made him change, and he kept suggesting different concepts we kept vetoing for just being more anime characters until he hit on one we at least didn't know.

It's not that he was just like, new, he'd been playing for YEARS. He was just like that.
