I hope there is a trend towards standalone seasons like Fargo. Hard to get excited for shows that might get canceled or have 2+ years gaps between seasons unless I've already read or am planning to read the completed source material, so I'm not depending on the show for a conclusion.
Ive watched some of them and didn't even realize how they're all connected.
It's not a straight up anthology, it's not a continuous show, but I'm definitely going to do a rewatch and pay attention again to see how much I missed
But yeah, if a show is based on a book, I'm reading the books in the 2+ year gaps between seasons.
I've had it with TV, so many good series that get canceled early often leaving a cliff hanger that clearly would have been explored on the next season.
Everything gets cancelled, it has really stopped me from watching shows all together.
