Yeah, The Netherlands really shows that it's a rich country with it's infrastructure. Maybe the best in the world, especially when you add everything together:

  • good public transport (train schedules are unreliable though)
  • great bicycle infrastructure (only Denmark compares)
  • great roads
  • but what really seals the deal: the level of maintenance and cleanliness: in all European countries you see blown out tires and crap at the side of the road. Not in The Netherlands. Accident? Lane blocked, stewards mostly first to arrive. Damage to road? It gets fixed in hours if needed.

I think I read somewhere we spend the most on road maintenance/infrastructure per capita.

Yeah the trains kinda suck sometimes. They're nice when they're going on schedule but lately it's been pretty messy. Also, they're just getting more and more expensive

Let's be honest, high population density, friendly climate and flat terrain make infrastructure pretty easy. The only thing they have to content with is danger of flooding from the North Sea
