Why say "unalive" here on lemmy?

[-] Darkblue@lemmy.world 20 points 4 months ago

So... we are in the Bad Place?

[-] Darkblue@lemmy.world 23 points 6 months ago

Probably.

More probable than the scenario you're painting. I mean, if Biden did have anything to do with that, he wouldn't put a spotlight on it by tweeting about it. (And no, don't start to accuse him with "distraction" or "false flag" tactics, that's just doubling down with conspiracy theories, we're better than that)

A dragon is known for hoarding treasure, which it of course doesn't need.

Oh no, the world is now seriously doing what was a funny satirical subplot in the movie Brewster's Millions.

Movies are not meant as instructions people, cmon!

Not very stable indeed. Since 'Kok' (2002!), NL has had 1 cabinet come to full term (Rutte II I believe). In 21 years 8 goverments. 1 full term of 4 years, so 7 in 17 years. Elections every 2,5 years on average :/

But hey, at least NL is not Belgium :D

"Going to shit", really?

NL is one of the best countries in the world. Yes we have some challenges, e.g. stikstof or crappy goverment (e.g.toeslagenaffaire), but common, don't be soo fatalistic.

And yes, live is getting very expensive. Which is the result of the late-game capitalistic piramid scheme we live in. That sucks, sure. But that is not solvable any time soon. Especially not by NL :D

Don't worry, the headline is too sensational. (Which is a pet peeve of mine anyway: headlines should be objective. I can make up my own mind please)

He didn't win a majority. He won't form a goverment. If he does, he will be powerless in the coalition. If he does get to make laws, they won't pass the senate (called "1ste kamer" in NL). And if he does, the government will fall anyway (which is a Dutch tradition anyway).

So a lot of 'outs' :)

No worries!

"This too will pass"

True for both good and bad times. Good time? Enjoy it, since it will pass. Bad time? Endure it, it will pass.

Well, not the same amount of people. The truck can only carry the same number of people, but only guys with small dicks.

The fact that I had to look up who Edward Jenner was, and that I (unfortunately) immediately know who Kylie or Bruce Jenner is (to use the same last name), cynically proves your point.

Nurses and firemen should drive lambos, bankers should eat scraps. But alas, human nature rewards greed, but expects humanity.

Yeah, The Netherlands really shows that it's a rich country with it's infrastructure. Maybe the best in the world, especially when you add everything together:

  • good public transport (train schedules are unreliable though)
  • great bicycle infrastructure (only Denmark compares)
  • great roads
  • but what really seals the deal: the level of maintenance and cleanliness: in all European countries you see blown out tires and crap at the side of the road. Not in The Netherlands. Accident? Lane blocked, stewards mostly first to arrive. Damage to road? It gets fixed in hours if needed.
