Government has been failing thousands of times, not once. It can’t even build a fucking train between two of their biggest cities anymore, they are incapable of functioning.

This is because it’s a capitalist rightwing government filled with corrupt public-private partnerships, one that has been hollowed out and gutted for decades. It fails at certain tasks because capital wants it to fail, it certainly doesn’t fail at brutal police violence when needed, but somehow when a natural disaster happens or when it comes time to deal with homelessness it’s totally incompetent again
