Liability, Noone want to be liable if someone posts CP or other illegal stuff.

I don't see how the rule makes that any less likely. It still happens, I saw a couple mods have a really bad night last night because of some CP.

Yes but they can just remove all porn in general and don't need to evaluate the posts...

Do you think people uploading CP are dutifully assigning metadata so that child porn can be filtered out? They don't care whether porn is allowed or not!

When child porn is uploaded, mods can't just delete it and go on with life. It has to be reported. It causes the moderators a lot of personal upset and stress. The no porn policy doesn't seem to have a big impact on that, and I don't see why it would.

There are lots of reasons they might not want to host porn on their communities. I don't see the CP angle.
