"I'm not directly to blame! I was just paid to be the gun handler and expert on staff, and had the responsibility to make sure live ammo was nowhere near set!"
Holy fuck, people are fucking pathetic at taking responsibility... Both of those fucking clowns deserve to rot for completely failing at their jobs and getting someone killed. Manslaughter is correct.
Manslaughter or negligent homicide is absolutely appropriate.
Baldwin should not be pointing guns at people and pulling the trigger, but his fatal actions could have only gone the way they did because she did not ensure that the gun was safe.
Baldwin was also in a high enough position to be able to put his foot down about safety, and did the exact opposite. It'd normally be OK to point guns at people on set, because it'd be a prop gun incompatible with real ammo, and real ammo would be miles away. This was a kind of set that NEEDED heightened safety, because revolvers are very hard to fake in movies. They both did the exact opposite.
He also demonstrated a distinct lack of gun safety knowledge, knowledge other actors say is required for union work. He should've checked the gun himself the second it hit his hand. He bares just as much blame, IMO.
They are both 100% responsible because they both had many opportunities to go a different route.
I agree. Gun safety 101. Don’t care if it’s a toy, a prop, or a real “unloaded” gun. You do NOT point a gun at someone and you do NOT pull the trigger.
Ok, then let's ban every single piece of video showing anyone pointing and firing a gun at anyone. Immediately.
Agreed.
Good.
