Pretty standard format. Conference semi-finals 9July 20/21) are 1st vs 4th and 2nd vs 3rd. Winners advance to Conference finals (July 27/28). Conference champs advance to MLR Championship, August 4.

I agree on out 8 of 12 being a lot, but I think that was actually set when there was expected to be 13 or 14 teams (depending how long they've been working to bring in Anthem RC).
