For me, the most important part of a distribution is the package manager.

That is why I use #NixOS. There is nothing wrong with #ubuntu the elitism of the vocal minority of #arch users is just annoying.

That being said, there is a higher skill floor to arch over Ubuntu, but that doesn' say anything regarding your skill.

@zbecker @pazukaza @alcasa for me it's about what containers I'll most likely be working with so my personal OS knowledge applies to working with those containers. I don't want to look up the package manager commands when editing a dockerfile. Ubuntu and Debian are pretty ubiquitous. I've never seen anything running on an Arch container in an enterprise production environment. Then of course there is Alpine, which I deal with regularly and can't stand. Also, #regolith on Ubuntu is amazing.
