Was talking to a friend about wearing masks and they made the point that they “wish it would have become the norm instead of a side of a political battle.”

Making it political is just trying to explain away indifference to the moral and ethical implications of giving up.

It wasn’t liberal vs conservative, liberals were just as eager to go mask off as soon as possible regardless of the actual situation.

When you don't know you're in the middle of a class war.

I disagree. I experienced it as politically charged as far as trump fans vs mask wearers. it was majority Rs that battled mask mandates and majority Ds that rolled out sufficient protective rules. nowhere there was liberalism a factor, other than a constant target of ridicule for conservatives and or trump fans. but the masks and mandates were politically divided in the U.S.

until the Biden CDC told us we didn't have to mask anymore, then it was liberals and conservatives against anyone who still cared about public health.

Right??? It was Biden, the democrat, that declared the pandemic over.

Multiple times because he kept getting proven wrong by the ongoing pandemic.

Early on, yes, I can agree that establishment dems and their liberal supporters were trying for a solution. However, In my recent experience they are all equally flippant about it. Liberals have tended to be more willing to feign compassion and be understanding of those of us still wearing masks, but they are still equally as eager to pull the wool over their own eyes for the sake of pre-COVID normalcy. At least conservatives had the convictions to deny it from the beginning.

It was that until July 4th 2021, when Biden said you're good to take your masks off. Then it became political for the liberals to take off their masks to prove they got their vaccine. They weren't deterred when what followed was the two worst waves of the pandemic (delta/omicron). Now I'm considered a party pooper for wearing a mask from liberals who know I'm immunocompromised.
