What do people here do when wanting to take their phone with them when travelling to the US or Canada. It looks like I might need to take out a mortgage if I took my eir SIM with me & turned on data roaming.

Does anyone have any recommendations for eSIMs or anything else?

I don't know about the US specifically but buying a local prepaid SIM card is often a decent solution

Thanks. I'll take a look in local shops when I get there.

In the US, you can get prepaid SIMs from, like, Target, Walmart, the grocery store, and etc. Look at Mint Mobile, Straight Talk, Boost Mobile, or some others.
