I’m sure these weapons just fell out of a coconut tree.

And what’s worse is they’re probably tested on animals.

I agree. But a lot of the non-cheap stuff is just as toxic and exploitative. We’ve found clothing that’s for sale in a national supermarket chain for sale on Temu for a fraction of the price. Is it a knock-off or the same product being marked up? I suspect the latter is often the case.

Fair. I have forgetfulness on my side so once I've disposed of one chewing gum I seem to be okay.

I agree, but she also exists in the context of AIPAC money and bombing innocent people to pieces. Please keep the positivity in context.

These things are so quick and easy to disable that I barely remember doing it.

That’s a very badly written article. It doesn’t even back up its own headline besides deferring to a research group. No details or arguments for why the conclusion might be valid. I can see this being useful for anti-immigration fascists though.

The truth is that it’s our consumption, not our population that’s the biggest problem. We are the only species on the planet that creates waste.

@TotallyNotJessica put it best with this comment https://lemmy.world/comment/10039086

“We’re overconsuming more than we’re overpopulated. It’s probably possible to reach sustainability with our current population if we curtailed consumption, but our consumption driven economy would have to change at a fundamental level. We’d need to impose strict taxes on waste and heavily subsidize efficiency while redistributing wealth from the ultra polluting ultra rich.

Overpopulation myths distract us from the real culprits of our unsustainable system. We need to cull the fat cats before we cull the masses. Population control should always be the last resort, while redistribution should always be the first.”

Robocop & Robocop 2 back-to-back. I’d recommend the first one but not the sequel. Even though it’s the same main actors, the writers seemingly decided to lower their IQ and make their personalities more shallow in the sequel.

I guess if we’re lucky, someday they’ll upgrade it to graphene.

Top (of which there are several)

I'm used to seeing articles about AI being used for either highly scientific uses or for generating semi-entertaining nonsense. For a personal business involving managing appointments, documenting meetings, tracking payments etc, can AI help with any of that? Other things include undertaking CPD training, occasional advertising as well as maintaining a website from time-to-time.

The people I know who don't think AI has any use for them belong in this category and work in the area of mental health, yoga teaching / training, nursing and massage therapy.

There’s a paragraph on a page that I need to remove temporarily. It would be easier to just collect it out like I would in HTML. Then I can restore it quickly when it’s needed again. Is it not possible?

I’m open to both online services as well as self hosting. But I’d like it to be low-maintenance.

I started doing this for a few hours before lunch to extend my battery life, but found that it actually improved my attention and productivity. I also made better choices from my less distracted state, in particular deciding I could skip an unhealthy snack etc.

As per your guidelines here https://lemmy.world/post/4505404 I'd like to request to care for this sub.

Some interesting trends here that I wasn't aware of. Eg: "Alcohol consumption in Ireland is now less than the United Kingdom and most other European countries, including Spain, France, and Germany."

After years of not bothering with alcohol I tried some of the alcohol-free versions of those drinks and the difference was negligible but the next morning was a lot more pleasant.

The original article title is "Off-license consumption fuelling rise in non-alcoholic drinks as demand for 0.0% alternative sees post-pandemic surge", but I took an interesting quote from the article for the title of this post.

I was walking along and suddenly my character starts coughing violently. Vision starts to fade and she collapses to the ground, dead. There's no text to tell me what happened.

I'm at Lorenz SysTech Spire now but it happened earlier in the game too.

Edit: I figured it out. There's gas coming from the doorway I was beside. The previous time I'm not sure what happened. Maybe my energy just got too low. I thought the health bar was a battery bar for the torch :)

I've made a webpage for an event and on the ticket-selling platform they've also made a page. There's a lot of redundant information between the two. I'm finding it hard to decide if it's a good idea or not to deduplicate the information.

Personally, I would just have the information on the webpage and on the ticket-selling platform I would just sell tickets. The platform would have a link back to the webpage for people looking for more information.

It could be the opposite: the ticket platform could have all the info and just embed their iframe into a page on our website.

Anyway, the job is done for this time but I can't stop thinking about it :) Any thoughts?
