Hi, I am running my own instance and generally federation works (especially with e.g. lemmy.world).

But for every lemmy.ml community i tried, I am stuck with „subscribe pending“. Interesting is, that I able to see the latest posts mostly (and they continue to do so) but i cannot see most comments or votes (still, some are visible).

What is going on here an how can i fix it?

My instance is also listed on the lemmy.ml linked instance list.

I have little more to add than to say that I'm seeing the same thing with both lemmy.ml and programming.dev. Subscribing to communities on other instances, such as on beehaw.org or lemmy.sdf.org, appears to work fine, and I was at some point successful in subscribing to one single community on programming.dev. In addition, posting works fine as well. No idea what's going on here; I don't think the problem is on my side.

I don't run my own instance, but I also see every non-local community sitting in "Subscribe pending". I'd be interested to hear how you fix it (assuming you can), so maybe I can share your experience with my server admin.

I don‘t know… Some people on GitHub mentioned that unsubscribe und re-subscribe solved it.

tried it multiple times and did not work

Yeah, I've also done that dozens of times and no luck. Been watching for a bug report or similar, but so far nothing.

that bug was closed, but someone entered a new issue here:

https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/3203

hopefully the devs re-visit this as I am still unable to resolve the 'pending' status on 7 communities
