Somehow, I think Vancouver clearing the cap that they did, and getting the best player in the deal, kinda means they won this hands down, unless Brzustewicz maintains his high offensive production coming into the League. As far as I hear from Nucks fans, he only projects as a third-pairing defenceman, so...

I think it's a win-win. Calgary gets some prospects and a couple picks, plus a play now player. Quite a haul for one guy.

Honestly, the return looks a little underwhelming for Calgary. Especially given they're taking a net cap hit.

It's a rebuild, they are ok taking some cap on, if it means picks. It's the long game. It's not like a banger of a trade out of the gates, but I think it might pay off longer term. You've got a whole bunch of bodies coming your way, there's gotta be a diamond somewhere in there.
