List of Team-Specific Communities:

TroubleshootingIf a community appears as a 404 page when you click it, it likely means that the community is being hosted outside of the instance you are currently using and that nobody in your instance has viewed or interacted with that specific community yet. In order to address this, you will need to copy-paste the specific handle for the community (for example, !tampabaylightning@lemmy.world) into your searchbar so that your instance can "learn" that it exists, after which the community should display via linked URLs without issue. Hopefully this is addressed by the lemmy devs and streamlined in the near future.

Police in Nova Scotia say a fourth youth hockey player has been arrested in connection to a sexual assault investigation that involves alleged hazing incidents and a team in the Truro area.

Colchester County District RCMP said the youth was arrested on Thursday, and is facing charges of sexual assault and assault with choking.

Three other young players were arrested on similar charges earlier this week, after a youth reported being assaulted during a private hockey team gathering in Colchester County in October 2025.

In a news release Thursday, police said that report spurred an immediate investigation, which involved getting statements from multiple witnesses.

Staff Sgt. Marc Rose said police have since determined there were multiple alleged incidents at different times and locations in Nova Scotia.

Their rendezvous may be on Valentine’s Day, but its nature looks likely to be anything but romantic: Denmark and the US, their relations frostier than they have been for decades, are due to face each other in ice hockey next month.

A week into the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics in Italy, the Danish Lions are scheduled to play Team USA in a preliminary round game at Milan’s Santagiulia ice hockey arena on 14 February, according to the official programme.

The stakes have also been raised by the inclusion of players from North America’s National Hockey League (NHL) at the Games for the first time since 2014, meaning many of the world’s best players – including several from Denmark – will be competing.

The Danish player Nikolaj Ehlers, who plays for the Carolina Hurricanes in the NHL, said it was “a proud moment. It’s going to be a lot of fun.” His compatriot Mads Søgaard from the Ottawa Senators told the NHL website he was “proud to represent my home country”.

If Canada ran its own top-tier league, focused on Canadian cities, rivalries, and development, would the sport be healthier and better at the highest level?

Am I crazy or is this video explaining the suspension pretty stupid. It's saying Tkachuk was watching the play the whole time while you can clearly see him with his head down pushing Stanley into the bench. This doesn't seem worthy of a suspension to me.

Believe it or not, we're roughly halfway through the NHL season.

Right now, 10 point separate the top of the east (Lightning) from the bottom (Blue Jackets). 10 points! It's so close that a few games could completely change the race in the east.

Meanwhile, in the west, the Avs just suffered their THIRD regulation loss after 41 games.

What a season!

Is this the worst managed and owned team in the league? In the whole hockey world? In all of sports history (probably not quite that bad but cut me a little slack here)?

In 2 years they've gone from one of the most stacked groups in the league, with 6 players going to the all star game to this.

We're in dead last place and just traded arguably the greatest player in Canucks history, a true generational talent, Calder nominee, 3 time Norris trophy nominee and winner in 2024, Canucks all time leader in points and assists for a defenseman, the team captain, for Rossi, Ohgren, Buium and what might very well turn into a 32nd overall draft pick.

I'm done emotionally investing in this team and shall now be watching the Wild and my second team the Sharks instead until Aquilini sells the team.
