What's new in this release:

  • Mono engine updated to version 9.0.0.
  • A number of system tray fixes.
  • Exception handling improvements on ARM platforms.
  • Various bug fixes.

It seems there’s no new feature

I'm fine with that.

Yes, much like almost every of Wine release. Increasing compatibility is the focus of Wine developement. compatibility issues are bugs, so fixing bugs is the main focus

They are clearly still polishing / stabilizing the recent 9 release which was quite feature packed. Nice to see actually.

I still dont know the difference between Wine-GE and GE-Proton

Proton is only meant to be run inside the Steam container. It does a lot of custom stuff that causes weird bugs when used outside Steam.

Glorious Eggroll was fed up with people using GE-Proton outside of Steam and reporting bugs, so he made Wine-GE so people could get all the fixes but run it outside of Steam

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.
