About a day ago this post was made over on sh.itjust.works.

~~It has proceeded to cause the Sync for Lemmy app to either fully crash or to crash and restart as reported here.~~

~~Upon testing it doesn't appear to be the image as when posting, the PNG image link, WEBP image link, embeding the PNG image or WEBP image, Sync can open or view the image without issue.~~

Edit: Sync has been fixed.

But the mystery gets deeper as the above testing works fine when using the default "lemmy.world" interface but when I attempt to post a link to the image using the "old.lemmy.world" interface it crashes to what appears to be the webpage within the comment section (as shown here).

This is what I was attempting to post ("lemmy.world" - Worked, "old.lemmy.world" - Malfunction).

I am using Firefox 123.0 on Manjaro 23.1.3

Could you please have a look into this.

FWIW, it works OK for me in Firefox for Android using the default lemmy-ui.
My guess would be a bug in clients that do crash.

The ap_id in that post contains a dot, but lemmy clients might assume it's supposed to be an integer

The top link crashes Sync as well.

The bottom one brings up a webpage saying something about a home instance.

The bottom link is meant to take you to the same post, but through whatever instance you choose, like say lemmy.world ever you have your account.

Sync has been fixed but not sure if the old.lemmy.world UI has been fixed.

I'll remove that post while client devs figure this out.
Most likely, anything from that insurance's server software would likely crash those as well.

Sync has been fixed but will have to check old.lemmy.world later

Looks like old.lemmy.world is fine as well.

Not sure what happened with just that post and image.
