I've been looking around for one; search (in my Lemmy client) doesn't find one, and while there seems to be at least one in Reddit, the only communities listed on qmk.fm are Reddit and Discord.

Is there a good place to ask questions in the Fediverse?

No QMK specific community that I'm aware of either, but in addition to this one there's also mechanicalkeyboards@lemmy.ml but it's pretty quiet over there.

Here is a pretty good place to try, and as mentioned !mechanicalkeyboards@lemmy.ml is the closest thing to a viable normies' mk keyboard community on Lemmy. Most of the reddit-hating graybeards in the mk community were already on geekhack, with a small contingent on keebtalk (I joined both! My beard is already turning grayer!), and then between Discord people, people who don't give a shit about APIs or IPOs, and people who need /r/mechmarket to fund their hobby, there just hasn't been the critical mass of users migrating.

Thanks, I'll post my question there.

Is that what's causing it‽ I was wondering.

This is the only place I'm aware of, but I've hardly done a thorough search. There are some fediverse/lemmy community search tools out there you could probably hit up. One thing that's most likely true is that there's no official QMK community on Lemmy.

Ergonomic, split and other weird keyboards

Rules

Keep it ergo

Posts must be of/about keyboards that have a clear delineation between the left and right halves of the keyboard, column stagger, or both. This includes one-handed (one half doesn't exist, what clearer delineation is that!?)

i.e. no regular non-split¹ row-stagger and no non-split¹ ortholinear²

¹ split meaning a separation of the halves, whether fixed in place or entirely separate, both are fine.
² ortholinear meaning keys layed out in a grid
