Spoilers for what? Assuming your “old Trek” cutoff is Nemesis, we’re already talking about 20+ year old content. So what exactly are you trying to avoid spoiling?

I believe they mean "spoiler-free for the newer shows"

New people are born every day and still have the opportunity to see Trek for the first time.

I don't think a universe exists where creating a separate "Old Trek" community would end well, regardless of the intent behind it.
