With all these fires going around and the potential of house fires a quick question about gas masks.

Is the RD40 40mm thread EN-148-1 the same as the STANAG 4155 Nato thread?

Would a draeger rd 40 filter fit a MP5 Gas mask ? Or a military nbc filter fit a draeger x-plore-6300?

Edit: Just want to know if the civilian and mil spec threading is identical.

I don’t know the details of what you are asking, but I will say that smoke has VOCs, which are gases, which means you need a gas mask. N95 or other makes will not work. It sounds like you’re looking for a gas mask aready, and I wish I could help you more. I think as long as you have some sort of gas mask, you’re probably a lot better off than someone with an n95 or surgical mask.

Also, I’ll just add a recommendation for a box fan with an air filter ductaped to the side of it, to clear the air in your home. Or, run your house air all day if you can do that. Good luck! Wildfires are no joke. Don’t breathe the air.

Good luck! I can’t help you there. I know my 3M filters work with my 3M gas mask, that’s about all I know.

I’ll he cross posting the question. Last resort would be reddit 🙈

Why not try ChatGPT, and then try to google ChatGPT’s answer? That’s what I do these days. Google is hard to search these days and ChatGPT alone cannot be trusted as a source of truth. Together, you can get a reasonable idea.

Or try calling an army surplus store?

I found a CAD file calling the thread RD40 NATO which is enough evidence that they fit.

ChatGPT is overrated, the right combination of keywords in the search engine yield results instead of fantasy.

Third option would be to ask a shop via mail. But I find it engaging to ask people with first hand experience. This might bring substance to the community and maybe the interest of others is sparked to work on their own setup or solution…

Win, win I suppose.
