I clearly don't understand mastodon well enough... But as mentioned there. It's kinda like hearing a drone the room over. You can def hear it but it's quite subtle

Y'all can make calls on your pinephone?? (/Sarcasm pointed to most comments I see)

In seriousness, I haven't tried yet, but I don't expect it to have an impact

[-] maryjane@social.coletivos.org 1 points 7 months ago

@Qkall yeah, I can make calls. Sound is a bit low, but it works :)

[-] Deckweiss@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

technically, it works, yes

@technomad
Like the faint whirl of a drone being flown in the next room. You can hear it but it's pretty quiet honestly...

Lol, there have been times when mine has needed one, too. Now, if the fan can be powered through the phone battery with USB OTG or something, that would be genius ๐Ÿ˜„

[-] qkall@mastodon.social 4 points 7 months ago

@halm
It can be! Just needs a USB a to USB c adapter... Not sure impact on battery as I generally only need it when I'm not suspended on a charger

[-] halm@leminal.space 4 points 7 months ago

It came through! Maybe the mastodon-to-lemmy federation is a bit slow sometimes.

Oh, cool ๐Ÿ˜† I couldn't tell from the photo where the cables went. It's both sad and hilarious what we have to do to keep our phones chilled.

I must not mastodon right... But I did reply there to no avail here... Anyway it does work with a USB a to USB c thru the phones USB c port. Not sure yet on battery implications

This looks awesome! How would one go about making one of these themselves? Asking for a friend of course :)

@ambitiousslab

While I bought it from there, I'm not really trying to promote the bezos site. But the model number is (8USD):
Manufacturer โ€ŽYuhoo
ASIN โ€ŽB09GCPPXDQ

Thank you! This is going to send me down a rabbit hole. I had no idea these phone cooling fans were a thing!

[-] qkall@mastodon.social 2 points 7 months ago

@ambitiousslab
Yeah I saw some folks chatting about trying out some like gaming phone coolers and ... Yeah here we are ๐Ÿ˜‚
