In case people don't read the post, they recommend removing saves using the game client to make sure you don't get into a weird sync issue with cloud backups.
I reinstalled the game to remove my saves, only to realise they changed the location of where data was stored in one of the patches that I never installed, meaning I had no saves. What a waste that was, lol.
I think you can also check in Steam if you use any cloud space for savefiles in Steam, it's under properties when you right click the game and choose manage (I think, I am currently not at my game pc). If it says 0 kb used, then I guess you are good to go...
You're correct - it's indeed 0 for me. I also went into the folders and deleted the profiles, anyway. They were still there, just the wrong path for the game. I won't be able to play it today anyway since it's such a large download, so fingers crossed everything works tomorrow, haha.
Anything we can do in preparation of the launch time to make things install quicker? 🙈
I don't think so, Larian said no preloading before release. I heard that Steam went down when EA was released, so fingers crossed.
I bought it on GOG so I hope it goes up the same time.
Happy release day!
Have fun my friend!
I realized turning off my VPN increased my download speed from 12Mbps to ~85Mpbs on Steam. Might help install quicker, if you've got a VPN running.
I bought EA on Steam and GOG and also the collectors edition, so I've got my bases covered! Downloading Steam first.
Ended up doing the same. All ready to get started now. Enjoy your gaming!
