Nice catch! Is that baited with chicken?

Thanks! No, it's a little bit of shrimp

I'm fairly new to fishing and I've been mostly targeting trout with lures, so I'm trying to pick up tips, so thank you! I got a medium power and action rod as a hand-me-down that I was thinking of setting up for targeting bigger fish, can ya tell me how you're targeting perch? Like where to look and so on?

Hi, I'm new too and I don't know much about the language or technicality of it. I got this perch in a small lake/pond off the shore, using a bobber and putting the shrimp down about 2.5 feet, with a medium sized hook around 7 pm. I was more trying to get a catfish, I didn't even know there was perch in this lake.

Nice one!

I caught two nice perch yesterday on a kayak trip, but not quite as big as that one.

Try using a slightly smaller hook and bait piece and you'll likely pick up more perch in the same location, but smaller. In my experience they often tend to be a strongly schooling fish, meaning where there's one, there's often ten or more!
