Look I get that power of attorney does not technically mean anything specific. But we absolutely should not be allowing people this old to continue to make decisions for the people. They're absolutely should be an age limit and a physical and mental wellness checks as well that take into heavy consideration whether this person is the best to read their represented people.

You’d think that the wellness checks for candidates could be sufficiently administered by the voters. But it just goes to show the state of the democracy where these incapable people continue to hold office. Like who is actually excited about them being there?

I’m not a Californian so I don’t have any insight to their last senate election, but Feinstein probably checks every box the Democratic Party and DSCC want. She’s a liberal (this is not a compliment when I say it) through and through, which means nobody will tell her to get out of the way. She was exactly where she was meant to be to prevent any progressive challengers in the primary from ascending

I believe she's also on a very important committee, and "letting" a younger person take that seat means they lose that position on the committee.

Good news! She's not.

Bad news: that's why they keep her in office, and it's been this way for well over a decade

The statement said that the trustees have not been provided with documentation showing that Katherine Feinstein had been appointed power of attorney. And, in an apparent attempt to raise questions about Senator Feinstein’s capacity to represent her own interests in the lawsuit, it said: “Nor has Katherine made it clear, either in this filing or directly to my clients, why a sitting United States senator would require someone to have power of attorney over her.”

The headline which is stated as fact, is contested.

Finally! Senator posts can now be passed down as inheritance. What innovation!

FTA:

"the two factions are at odds over access to the proceeds of Mr. Blum’s life insurance, which Senator Feinstein says she needs to pay for her growing medical expenses."

Can we just take a moment to say how BROKEN the system is that a multi millionaire 30 year Senator can't pay for their heavily subsidized healthcare without access to a deceased spouses life insurance?

Senators have the best health care in the country, she has a net worth of $87 million and she can't pay for her health care?
