I ordered a Fanatec CSL DD bundle which, as everyone probably knows, comes with a plastic quick release system called QR1 Lite. This system was known for being unreliable and breaking back in like 2022 but it looks like there were some revisions and now nobody talks about it. Is it reliable enough now or should I order a QR1 (non-Lite) asap? I don't care about the noise or flex but only about long-term reliability.

P. S. I know it's probably better to ask this question on the Fanatec forum but I don't really want to create an account just for it. I better don't give my data to another company when it's not necessary.

EDIT: QR1 is not available here anymore. RIP my wheel connection pins

Anything with a DD you should go with the QR1 not the lite garbage.

Alright then. Now I need to wait another 40 days for the delivery yay

EDIT: QR1s don't seem to be available anymore and QR2s go for $200+ which is unacceptable. I guess my wheel is screwed lol

It’s not screwed, per se, it will function. Also, there are hundreds of QR1s available on eBay as people have upgraded to the QR2.

eBay is not available here, neither are Amazon and Fanatec. I ordered mine via an unofficial (but legal) delivery from another country where it is officially available and I'll have to pay like $200 of import tax when it arrives. What I meant in "QR1s are not available anymore" is that the firm that I ordered the setup from listed it as "out of stock" on its website. Also if it functions I don't see a reason to change it. I don't have the budget to care about noise or aesthetics

Fair enough, the noise and aesthetics aren’t what I would worry about, the flex inherent in the plastic is the worry, but if it’s not available you’re stuck.
