I tend to drop the numbers when the base name is available, but I know a lot of friends go for consistency across platforms and the number helps ensure it’ll be available on any new platform they come to

One of my username contains a 9 because I was 9 when I created that username lol. Rarely use it anymore though since it contains references to my real name
