Why not make it public domain? They're millionaires or even billionaires already anyway. And Queen also had essentially no new musical output since exactly the day Mercury died. All they did was grabbing every tape with Freddie's voice on it and sell it.

They've spent the best part of thirty years cashing in. Why stop now? Seriously? People love the music they made in the 70s 80s.

I think selling the catalog for a huge lump sum and putting it into a trust for future generations is gonna probably make more in the long run. The return on royalties is only going to go down.

*Public domain for NON-COMMERCIAL USE. I absolutely do not want to hear every insurance commercial blasting “I’m In Love With My Car”, or anything even remotely sports related continually abusing “We Will Rock You”.
