Our rusty lathe (reddthat.com)

The company didn't pay the mortgage for over a year, and our nearly new lathe got very rusty.

I was about to say, some elbow grease, and it's probably pretty okay under there.

Takes way more rust than you would think to ruin cast iron.

Did you have to rebuild the chuck? I'd imagine that was in a nightmare state.

Nope, no rebuilding. I also haven't actually used it yet, because of other work taking priority. I'm the only machinist in the shop, so I have a lot to get to lol. And, the tool holder shouldn't need to be ultra precise anyway because I touch off tools anyway.
