Zuck is going mask-off. I expected it from Elon with how reckless he is, but I thought Zuck was more subtle than that. He probably thinks he can bury it in bullshit and everyone will forget.

Sadly, he’s probably right.

It also makes me wonder what his data is telling him about how the election is going to turn out.

[-] quicksand@lemm.ee 4 points 1 month ago

[-] SketchySeaBeast@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 month ago

Well they let him stay mask off right before he lost too, so let's not look to far into it.

Cool. Gonna report every post for harmful rhetoric and false information.

Guarantee they’ll ban you for that. They’re paving a road for him while the news media carries him on their back.

Makes me think that meta thinks Trump will win and meta wants to be on the winning side.

The road to trumpian fascism is paved with social bullshit.

[-] Anticorp@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

But then you would have to look at them.

Another torrent of blatant untruths and 'alternative facts'? Glad I'm not on any meta platform lol.

[-] makyo@lemmy.world 13 points 1 month ago

Great idea, because it's less important to hold someone to account when they're lying to become President. God it is so infuriating how much power loves to support power, fucking sociopaths.

Having everyone behave properly? No.

Let those who want to misbehave do it.

Suckerberg peed his pants a little at the idea of the neo-Führer acting against him if he wasn't allowed on his platform.

[-] Auzy@beehaw.org 7 points 1 month ago

Sure. Give him access.

But fact check every single post lol

[-] morphballganon@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Maybe Turnip will say something that gets him slapped with another lawsuit?

[-] hitmyspot@aussie.zone 3 points 1 month ago

Hopefully Facebook does for willingly allowing misinformation, against their own policies.

Mr Trump’s (convicted felon) threat to throw Zuck in jail might be relevant to this decision.

[-] Anticorp@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

So that's what we do now. Eh? Just tuck our tails and hand the nation over to the Confederacy because of the impotent threats from maniacs?

[-] Bapanada@kbin.earth 3 points 1 month ago

I wasn't consulted, alas, but we know what Zuck's decision is.

[-] Anticorp@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Oh neat! Tailoring to racist, fascist, assholes, who threaten nuclear war on a whim, just so Facebook can get a little engagement boost. Fuck Mark Fuckerberg.
