ABYDOS was a temporary team created for the sake of letting a lot of skilled and technically teamless players compete in the latest season of World Team League (a little more about this below). Now that the season is over, they've disbanded. I'm assuming the players will resume looking for spots on more permanent teams now.

I didn't realize it was a "temp" team, I haven't heard of that concept before.

To be honest, how teams work in SC2 today is very unclear to me. When I first started to watch back in the Wings of Liberty days it felt like teams were more meaningful. I think back when the GSTL was going strong you got a better sense that team players worked together. I know there is a team league going on these days but I don't watch it, it isn't as prominent as the GSTL was (at least to me). Maybe I should check out the next team tournament.
