My wife and I was pursuing adoption, got started a little bit before the pandemic hit. We knew it would be a long wait, but during lockdown the agency told us that now even fewer women are turning to adoption. Being at home, and having more people work from home, made it possible for less women to seek adoption. We have since switched to gestational surrogacy.

You called it, nice! I thought Gumiho would take out Dark, but we saw how that went.
Maru is actually too good, I wanted something more exciting in the finals.
I haven't found a good OT one yet, but sdf has a network so I'm gonna give it a chance.
+1 for the Lounge, I self host it and it works very well!
I'm very curious how instances can have some unique features and personality.
I think something like r/place would start as something not federated, only for local users. What would it mean to federated it? If there was demand then federation would be added and instances could opt-in to the app.
I hope instances come up with these little widgets to make their place more unique. Right now every lemmy instance feels like all the others.
I've always heard good things about this game. I gave it a try once and it just didn't click for me.
Oh this looks interesting, I hope to play with it sometime.
Thanks for the write up! I use Syncthing for a similar result for a while, but now I just game on one device to keep me away from the desktop when the work day is over ha ha.
Yes, if lemmy.sdf.org defederates from the Threads server, you wouldn't be able to follow Threads users using your SDF account.
I think Threads is Mastodon-like, even with federation it's not currently easy for the two to interoperate. Threads users could subscribe to a community and post replies, but how I've seen it on my Mastodon account is that it's super hard to keep track of discussion.
Personally, I like the "wait and see, defederate after first offense" approach that some are taking.
From the thread there:
I didn't realize it was a "temp" team, I haven't heard of that concept before.
To be honest, how teams work in SC2 today is very unclear to me. When I first started to watch back in the Wings of Liberty days it felt like teams were more meaningful. I think back when the GSTL was going strong you got a better sense that team players worked together. I know there is a team league going on these days but I don't watch it, it isn't as prominent as the GSTL was (at least to me). Maybe I should check out the next team tournament.
