I like the design. I wish car designers were more adventurous.

This car would be right at home in the cyberpunk 2077 game or in the ghost in the shell anime.

Something tells me that the final car will look more bland, but I hope I'm wrong.

The ground effects look great but are likely impossible on a streetable car. It’s gonna look like an 80s Supra or RWD Celica.

Shut up and take my money!

372 mile range. No listed price that I could find. But the ICE model starts at just under 40k$.

People always want this info. Please put it in the summary.

I disagree. Providing a summary of an article to attempt to please Lemmy's fickle users should absolutely not be a prerequisite to share articles here.

Also, as another user pointed out, this information wasn't even available in OP's link. You clicked through to another article from 2022. Is every post here intended to be a research project? This is how we discourage content from being shared. If you want this info feel free to do your own research and post it in the comments as you've done here, without the snarky remarks.

Lastly, as I seemingly cannot help myself, what in the absolute world are you on about with, "the ICE model starts at just under 40k$." What ICE model was discussed in either article?

It's compared to the ioniq 6. So that one.

598.6 Kilometers (likely rounded up to 600).

[-] draughtcyclist@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

I don't see this information anywhere in the article. Where are you getting this?

[-] surewhynotlem@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

I clicked through to a linked article here

Admittedly, it's about the concept car and doesn't guarantee it'll be in the production model. But it gives a good idea of what they're aiming at. It's 300ish, not 90ish or 500ish.

This is the first I've heard that they're planning other engines other than the hydrogen. Which I certainly hope for, as hydrogen-only would put it out of reach for a lot of people due to how impractical it is to find a hydrogen fueling station right now.

My other concern is that they won't make many of these. I'd rather it not be a 1 of 500 that sit around in collector's garages collecting dust.

I’m just happy to see some electric cars that aren’t SUVs or boxy crossovers. I hope more manufactures take their old hatchback style cars and make them electric, keeping the “old” physical buttons as well. Loved the look of the Honda e, but not so much the all touchscreen controls

Retro futurism is so hot right now.

[-] unconfirmedsourcesDOTgov 8 points 2 months ago

I love the design aesthetic Hyundai has been following over the last few years and this concept is no exception.

[-] DarkThoughts@fedia.io 3 points 2 months ago

I'm not a fan of the rims and not fully sold on the back & backlights but the general ~90s boxy feel with the modern polish is really sexy. Hopefully they don't sway too far away from the concept model.
