Hi,

I created a few communities here and want to switch to a new instance.

Is it possible to hand over ownership to my new account on a different instance?

What if my new instance would defederate my current instance?

You can make your new account a moderator, no matter what instance it's on. As long as it can post.

If your new instance defederates, you'll still have your original account as a moderator.

Its possible but has some caveats. The main issue is probably that you can't moderate posts and comments (and don't even see them) from instances that your new home doesn't federate with, but the community's home instance does.

Ok, thanks, so as long as the same instances are federated everything is fine, afterwards I might not see some posts. Got it.
